When
I need to escape the problems of my hectic day,
I take a walk into the dark and the moon lights my way,
As I walk, little fireflies rise around me from the tall grass,
Their tiny lights fill the darkness with an eerie golden cast,
All around the crickets begin their chirping sounds,
Little legs like violins playing from all around,
I look up and see all the stars twinkling so bright,
They are the universe's own fireflies to fill the black night,
This light I see from many long years gone by,
Traveling so far unseen till it fell upon my eye,
Then suddenly the heavens put on a fiery show,
A meteor streaks the dark skies with a brilliant glow,
I ponder its travels and wonder the distance how far,
What glorious secret things it has seen out among the stars,
Now suddenly it's journey has ended here on this night,
It fills my eyes with its beauty as it trails a fiery light,
I
have sadness that it no longer will travel the great unknown,
Out
there surrounded by the wonders of the great universe all alone,
But that it was part of it all I will in my heart always know,
Inside of me the memory of the final bright glow,
I stand there and make a wish on its fading light,
My wish that all could see the things I see in the night.
