men are fools, some are just bigger fools than others.

the sea of life there are few safe shores.

times the heart may see what the eyes cannot.
Hold
no hate in your heart, and your life will be happier, if not longer.
Live
not for others, but for yourself.
Yesterday
is gone forever, and tomorrow may never come. Today is all any of us really
have, live it well.
Make
your life's work, working at living your life well.
There
are times in life when death seems not so bad.
The
nearer I get to the end, the clearer I see the way.
Worry
not when the end will come, for it will come when it is time.
Count
your blessings, not your money.
When
darkness falls upon you, remember some of the best times in life happen
in the dark of night.
Have
a lust for love, not a love for lust.
To
lose a friend to death is sad, to lose a friend for any other reason is
a shame.
If
you are at peace with yourself, the rest will be easy.
Happiness
comes from within, not from without.
Even
the brave, fear being alone.
When
you see a wrong, at least try to make it right.
Fear
not death, for it is the road to home.
Forgiving
is one thing, but forgetting is near impossible for a mere mortal.
Judge
me not by the law of man, but by the law of God Almighty, for in the end
it is he I must answer too.
I
sometimes think the person I fear most in life is me.
Fear
not to cry when tears are the order of the day.
All
the wisdom in the world cannot stop a fool from being a fool, and that
is as it should be.
All
too often the truth gets lost in the search for the facts.
When
you stand to be counted, make sure what you stand for counts.
When
you reach out to some one, always remember that they have the right to
refuse your offer.
The
hardest thing in life to understand, is why nobody understands.
In
the matter of debt, forget not what you owe yourself.
If
the hunt has been a good one, there need not be a kill.
A
true friend worries about you, even when you do not.
A
funny thing happened to me on the way to the grave, I had a life.
I
have been around a long time, and seen a lot of things, but each new day
reminds me that I have not yet seen it all.
Few
walk the path of their choosing, most walk the path they have been lead
down.
If
you find yourself lost, just ask someone the way, there is always someone
more than happy to tell you where to go.
When
the wind falls from your sails, row like hell.
At
times, no matter how right you are, things just turn out wrong.
Being
first doesn't always mean you win.
Silence
is golden, only if there is nothing you need to say.
The
price of a favor is ten times it's value.
As
my eyes grow weaker, I seem to see things clearer.
If
you hear God calling, don't put him on hold.
It
is a lot easier being me now that I know who I am.
Even
in the coldest of hearts, there burns the fire of passion.
Angels
do walk among us, but so does the Devil.
There
are some pains that only the touch of another can heal.
If
you see a light so bright that you can not ignore it, it is all right to
follow it, but remember, a light so bright that it draws you to it, is
also hot enough to burn you if you try to touch it.
The
hardest prison to get out of, is the one you place yourself in.
If
you care about some one, tell them today, while there is still time.
It
is wise to give yourself credit, just don't forget to pay the bill when
it comes due.
Before
you can really understand anyone, you must understand yourself.
About
the time I get to feeling that I can do no wrong, I do.
Life
is a gift from God, the least we can do is to live it the best we can.
Build
not walls in life, but make doorways instead.
A
broken heart heals slowly, and bears a scar forever.
Hold
on to your dreams, they weigh little, and bring much joy.
To
have a friend, you must be a friend.
There
are times when the eyes speak louder than any words can.
If
the grass really is greener on the other side, it may need to be mowed
more often.
What
is right for you may not be what is right for me, and the same can be said
of wrong, for we are not alike my friend, and it will be that way our whole
life long.
Often
in life we see what we want to see, not what is really there.
Going
overboard in life is all right, if you are a strong swimmer.
When
the mind cannot decide right from wrong, let the heart speak, and listen
to what it tells you.
Within
each of us is the power to find that which we seek.
I
find that getting older is easy, but getting better takes a little work.
One
should ask for no more than one can handle, the trick is to know just how
much that is.
When
I get to feeling that I have not gotten all that I have coming to me in
life, I try to remind myself just how lucky I am.
Proving
ones love is a hard test to pass.
Make
no bet you can not cover.
The
best thing about being over the hill is that all that climbing is behind
me now.
Friendships
are only as strong as that which is put into them.
The
river of life flows ever swifter on its way to the sea of eternity.
When
all hope seems gone, and all seems lost, wear not a frown, for hope springs
eternal, and what is lost can be found.
The
wind of time blows ever stronger across the sea of my life.
When
the road ahead turns, make sure you do too.
It's
not easy being me, but sometimes it is interesting.
Let
me live the days I have remaining with a smile on my face, and goodwill
toward others in my heart.
I
find that the truth seems to be only that which we are willing to accept
as the truth at any given point in time.
The
clock of life is not wound the same for all of us.
Once
you have seen the light, you will never fear the darkness again.
A
locked door, is just a funny looking wall.
A
window lets you see what is on the other side, a door way lets you get
to what is on the other side.
The
roughest stone, when cut, and polished properly, may be a jewel to treasure
forever.
Making
do with what you have is admirable, doing something that will bring you
more is wise.
When
the storms of life are all around you, take heart in knowing that the sun
will one day shine again in your life.
When
you ask for much you may get little, If you ask for little you may get
more than you want.
Awaking
to the fact that I have fewer days ahead of me than behind me, has changed
my view of life.
Wisdom
is not a gift, it is the result of a lifetime of mistakes.
Waiting
for others to see what is so clear to you, is like waiting for your hair
to grow.
Envy
not what others have until you know what price they have paid for it.
If
you hear voices in the night, and there is no one there, you may be crazy,
or you may be hearing the Angels speak.
The
biggest lies we ever hear, are most often the ones we tell ourselves.
It
is better to lose the fight for a just cause, than to win the fight for
an unjust one.
Ask
of yourself the hardest questions, and answer them only with the truth.
If
you speak only the truth, you may find you will have fewer friends in life,
but you may find that the friends you do have are true friends.
Look
within yourself, and you may find that all you really need in life, you
already have.
We
all need our pain, it lets us know we are alive.
The
one thing life is not, is fair.
If
you have never longed for that which you know you can never have, you most
likely will someday.
I
am not the man I once was, nor am I the man I will be someday, I am somewhere
in-between, but at least I am on my way.
There
are times when one should say what one thinks, and there are times when
one should think about what one says.
He
who stands alone against the world, is doomed to defeat, but he knew that
at the start.
Learn
all you can in life, for at the end there may be a test.
If
you really can judge someone by their friends, then I fear not the verdict
the jury hands down.
If
the only voice you hear is your own, then you will always be alone.
Take
time to hear what others say, even if you don't see things their way, for
hearing another point of view, just might make you think anew.
You
can never love someone enough to make them love you, and you cannot stop
someone from loving you, even if you don't want them too.
If
I can help someone in some small way, then this for me will be a brighter
day.
There
is so much in life to enjoy, so why do so many people work so hard at being
sad.
To
the young I say, enjoy this time in your life, for it will be gone all
too soon, and once gone, it will never come again.
The
greatest hope for tomorrow is in the hearts of the young of today.
There
is no justice, just the law.
The
hardest fight to win, is the one that takes place within yourself.
I
long not for that which was once, but for what still may be.
If
you doubt your judgment, you are not alone.
When
we look into the mirror of life, we never really see ourselves as others
do.
Time
stands still for no one, but it does seem to speed up for some.
Seek
not vengeance toward those who have done you wrong, for life will get even
for you.
Does
he who is blinded by the light see anymore than he who is blinded by the
darkness?
In
the light of day, the dreams of the night may fade.
If
there is no one around you to turn to for help, just look up.
When
what is a lie at the bottom, is not a lie at the top, there is no truth.
In
all the world there is only one of me, and at times that seems one too
many.
On
the highway of life the speed limit is not the same for all of us.
There
are times when even what is right ( and you know it is right ) will appear
to be wrong to everyone else.
Death
is but the doorway to the world beyond this life.
At
times, no one can make your point clearer, than those who oppose it.
We
sometimes find that where we are headed is not where we planed on going.
Those
who cannot see the wrong they do, seem to have no problem seeing what is
wrong with you.
What
is right or wrong, sometimes is just a matter of your point of view.
I
remember a time in my life, when there was time in my life.
At
16 I knew it all, now at 50 I find I know less every day.
The
war between good, and evil rages nowhere more than within each of us.
Saving
your money for when you are old is all right, if you are sure you will
live to be old.
The
one sure thing in life is that there are no sure things in life.
I
know I am not perfect, but how did everyone else find out so fast.
Sometimes
just a smile from the right face, can make the day seem worth living.
How
you handle things when all goes wrong is what matters most.
We
do not have to care about others, but there is no law that says we cannot.
Before
you go out on a limb, make sure the limb will hold you.
When
you come in from the cold, try not to get burned by the fire that warms
you.
I
am so old that I remember when if someone was gay, it meant that they were
happy.
There
are no walls so high that they can keep you from being hurt in life, and
they just might be the thing that hurts you the most.
Fear
not being in the dark, let the light within you shine, and you can find
your way.
The
truth may not be what you want to hear, but it is still the truth.
The
bridge from Earth to Heaven is built of the deeds we do in life.
There
comes an end to all things, even the stars in the heavens will someday
die.
All
roads end somewhere.
Some
things are better left alone.
The
days of our lives are not labeled, we never know which one will be the
last.
To
play by the rules you must first know what the rules are.
Dwell
not on what might have been, but see what is now, and what may yet come.
If
I could do it all over again, I would do it just the same way, for to change
one thing would change who I am now.
The
world of tomorrow lies in the dreams of the young of today.
The
man who can cry when he needs to, and fight when he has to, is indeed a
man.
Being
short does not keep one from walking tall.
The
older I get, the easier it is for me to cry, and I find I am a better man
for it.
The
shortest distance between two points in life is not always a straight line.
Pain,
and I are old friends, we've been together so long that I wouldn't know
what to do without it.
Life
is an investment, you will get little out of it if you put little into
it.
One
thing every gambler knows, is that you cannot win all the time.
When
you start out with nothing, you have little to lose by taking a chance.
If
you hear footsteps behind you, and there is no one there when you turn
around, it could be your conscience following you.
Only
when you know who you really are will you know what you really want.
You
can never find out who you really are, until you can look truthfully at
who you have been.
Only
you know what you really think of your friends, ever wonder what they really
think of you?
Those
who are willing to die for what they believe in are true believers. It
does not mean that what they believe is true, it means only they believe
that it is.
When
time gets short, you think about how you want to be remembered.
The
tears we shed in this life, are but rain to the flowers of the next.
The
pain we cause others in life, is but a fraction of the pain we cause ourselves.
The
brave are not without fear, they have just mastered their fear.
The
safest place to be, is often the most boring.
I
am me, and you are you. You should not judge the things I do. What's right
for me, may be wrong for you, and to ourselves we should be true. For I
am me, and you are you.
In
the Human race, no one wants to cross the finish line.
Of
heaven, and Hell I think today, for to one I am on my way, as to which
I have not a care, for in both, I have friends there.
The
lock to each heart takes its own special key to open it.
The
heart that has known not love, beats to a tune of sadness.
If
the question has no answer, it was all the more worth the asking.
When
you stop to smell the flowers, don't forget to watch out for bees.
Fate
has already decided who, and what you will be, all that is left is for
you to find out.
We
cannot change our past, nor can we know what the future will bring, but
what we do today, will later have an effect on both.
They
say that time heals a broken heart, but not even time can remove the scars.
In
our rush to get where we are going, we sometimes forget where we came from.
If
life really is just a dream, where will we be when we wake up?
I
find the autumn of my life is a good time for me. I have found myself at
last, and I find I like who I am. I fear not the coming of winter, for
I am finally at peace with myself.
There
are some wounds that nothing can ever heal.
I
did things my way when I could, and anyway I could get it done when I had
to.
Some
secrets we share with a trusted few, and some we will take to the grave
with us.
Those
with little to lose, have little to fear.
As
easy as it is to be made a fool of by someone, it is hard to believe how
much easier it is to make a fool of ourselves.
See
me as I am today, not as I use to be, for the man that stands before you
now is really me.
No
matter where the line is drawn, there will be those who will cross it.
A
fall from the top, always hurts more than a fall from half way up.
Hear
the voice of the wind, for it knows all that has happened from the beginning
of time, and it will tell you all if you will listen.
It
could all be so easy, if we would just let it.
If
you think being you is hard, try being me for a day.
We
have no greater fear than to have our fears known.
For
some there is just no easy way.
As
I get older I find my needs are fewer, and my wants for myself are less,
but my wants for others keep growing.
Dying
for what one believes in is better than living a lie.
There
are no right answers to the wrong questions.
If
you live life on the edge, don't lose your balance.
Looking
back is ok, but don't even think about trying to go back.
Some
times we take shelter where ever we can find it.
If
there were just one person who understood what has happen to me, it would
be easier.
When
all you can think about is the way things once were, you my friend are
old.
If
life were easy, it would be no fun at all.
Life
is so full of color, yet so many see only in black, and white.
To
convey in words what has happened to me of late, is beyond my ability,
but I can tell you that it has been for the better.
There
are places that only time can take one to.
We
all have our secret places where we go to think things out, or to heal
our wounds.
Evil
comes in many shapes, some are pleasing to the eye.
Make
for me a marker of stone, place it on my grave to mark my bones. Cut into
it these words I have said, ( I once lived, but now am dead , I did the
best that I knew how, it falls to you to take over now).
The
loudest voices are not always the one to listen too.
What
I do, I do because I must, to do otherwise would not be me.
Some
debts we feel, more than owe.
One
day you will want to remember this day, so try not to foul it up too bad.
There
will be times when you will hide your feelings, just be sure you don't
hide them so well that you can't find them later.
The
cheapest things in life are those we pay for with money.
Some
lights dim with the passage of time, while others grow brighter by the
hour.
When
a dream comes true, be careful that it doesn't become a nightmare.
The
spark of life makes a fire that only death can extinguish.
That
I am misunderstood by some, is a small price to pay for the friendship
of those who take my meaning the right way.
You
do not have to live by the same code I do, but you must except that I can
do nothing else.
Living
what I believe, I find is not easy, nor is it without its cost, but it
sure beats the way I was before.
When
the young ask, and they will, ( Why are things the way they are? ), we
must answer with the truth, it is because we have failed to make it better.
When
a teenager makes a mistake, it is because they have not learned any better,
when one of us so called elders makes the same mistake, what is our excuse.
Sometimes
we pick on the young, just because we are not.
